Live With A Snorer? Why Not Electrocute Them?

by Carol Bartram on April 20, 2009

stopsnoringelectrocuteAfter living with a snorer for over 20 years this little device looks like it could be the answer to my prayers. I’ve forced my husband over the years to try many varied and wonderful anti snoring devices some have been effective and some a complete waste of time.

But now drum roll please a company has developed an anti snoring device that shocks it’s victim I mean snorer with a mild electric shock if it detects the sound of snoring.

I have to say after years of ear abuse from my partner this sounds like a device I would like to try on him. According to the manufacturer it detects the sound of snoring and then from a small device strapped to the snorers wrist it sends a small and harmless electrical signal that disturb the snorer into stopping. The theory is that after a while much like Pavlovian conditioning the snorer is gently trained into not snoring so as to avoid the electric shock.

I say why a small electric shock? If a small shock works after a few weeks of use why not rack it up to 240 volts and speed up the process. I reckon one maybe two shocks should do it assuming you don’t kill the snorer! Either way the snoring will stop.

It may seem harsh but trust me ask anyone who lives with a nocturnal road drill and they’ll tell you it’s what they deserve.
(Please do not actually DO this. Tempting, I know, but think of the legal complications!)

The device will also store the number of times it was activated so you’ll have proof in the morning that it wasn’t just your imagination.

I may buy this as a novelty item and place it in my husbands Christmas stocking this year. After all enough is enough.
