Noisy snoring could be a thing of the past thanks to a cheap $5 injection that can be easily administered in a doctors surgery. As Snoring Aids go this one has a lot going for it it’s called strangely enough Snoreplasty and is undertaken with a local anaesthetic in the roof of the mouth.
The injection burns the soft tissues in the roof of the mouth causing scarring to occur. This scarring will then help stop the annoying vibration the long suffering partners of a snorer are all to well aware of. According to the research this procedure is effective in reducing snoring in over 80% of patients it was tried on.
This injection can be given up to 3 times in any year but most people find that one application lasts all year.
On the downside it doesn’t work in about 18% of the population that have a really loud snoring problem. But when the number of snorers is in the millions and the cost of the treatment is so cheap and the proceedure so simple to give this new treatment will bring hope to many chronic snorers and their long suffering partners.
This is still a very new snoring treatment so don’t expect it it to be availible for some time yet and if you suffer from sleep apnea I’m afraid this treatment won’t help you.
