There are lots of cures for snoring out there. You might be tempted to ask, why bother? After all, with the exception of Sleep Apnea, snoring isn’t dangerous. Plus, it’s just a bit of noise. Funny noise, perhaps, but there’s no harm in it, is there? Well, think again. This article takes a look at the ways in which Snoring can cause real problems.

It’s worth noting at the outset that snoring afflicts both men and women, of all ages, shapes and sizes. Technically, it’s classed as a sleep disorder, but it’s unusual amongst sleep disorders in so much as it isn’t always the snorer themselves who suffers. I think we all know what I’m talking about when I say that the real victim, in a lot of instances, is not the snorer, but the people around them. Let me tell you a true story about a friend of mine. We’ll call him Simon, as that was his name. He was a lovable guy, funny, intelligent, friendly, the life and soul of the party. He was also known for having the loudest snore of anyone I have EVER heard.

My friends and I would often go camping together, and it was a common experience for people to refuse to pitch their tent anywhere near Simon’s. You could always tell which tent was his, as there was a virtual cordon zone around it, a band of empty space separating Simon from all his friends. He never seemed to take this personally- in fact it was laughed about many a time. He would loudly protest that he never saw a problem with it, and that everyone else was making it up.

Simon seemed cheerfully unaffected by the fact that he snored so loud. He was, or at least he seemed to be, the kind of cheerful person who really didn’t mind being the butt of endless jokes about the noise he made. No-one ever thought any less of him, either.

But let’s think for a minute about what it would be like to be in the same bed as someone who snored that loud. A snorer doesn’t just snore, they can snore constantly, for extended periods of time. All through the night, in some cases. If you’re unfortunate to be kept awake by a snorer, imagine what it can feel like to lie there next to them, and unless you’re a remarkably tolerant or oblivious individual, it can be very hard indeed to get through a whole night’s sleep without being woken up. Now, we’ve all got different tolerance levels, but I know how I feel when I’ve had a few nights of broken sleep- I’m cranky, I can’t focus, and I really just want to lie down somewhere in peace.

Now, imagine that the reason you feel like that is because of your partner’s snoring. Imagine looking across at them at 3am as they slumber peacefully, making a noise that makes sleeping impossible for you. Think about how that would make you feel.

Now can you see why a Cure For Snoring is a good thing? If you snore, I guarantee you your partner certainly can!

Noisy snoring could be a thing of the past thanks to a cheap $5 injection that can be easily administered in a doctors surgery. As Snoring Aids go this one has a lot going for it it’s called strangely enough Snoreplasty and is undertaken with a local anaesthetic in the roof of the mouth.

The injection burns the soft tissues in the roof of the mouth causing scarring to occur. This scarring will then help stop the annoying vibration the long suffering partners of a snorer are all to well aware of. According to the research this procedure is effective in reducing snoring in over 80% of patients it was tried on.

This injection can be given up to 3 times in any year but most people find that one application lasts all year.

On the downside it doesn’t work in about 18% of the population that have a really loud snoring problem. But when the number of snorers is in the millions and the cost of the treatment is so cheap and the proceedure so simple to give this new treatment will bring hope to many chronic snorers and their long suffering partners.

This is still a very new snoring treatment so don’t expect it it to be availible for some time yet and if you suffer from sleep apnea I’m afraid this treatment won’t help you.

If you are looking for a way to prevent your partner snoring then there are various types of special gum shields advertised which may help provide a cure. These gum shields prevent snoring by keeping the lower jaw slightly forward during the night which stops the tongue vibrating. A relatively modest outlay on one of these shields can pay dividends in helping you sleep.

There are many reasons why people snore, so in order to try and prevent this you need to find out exactly what is causing the problem. In a lot of cases, it is simply that the snorer is suffering from a cold or flu and has a blocked nose. If this is the reason, why not try one of the many remedies advertised to help the problem.

If you are looking for a present for your partner that is a bit out of the ordinary, here’s an idea which could help both of you. If your partner keeps you awake at night by snoring, why not try and prevent this by buying them a special type of chin strap. These are widely advertised on the internet and can prove a success in resolving the problem.

Sleep apnea is a medical condition which means that a person stops breathing whilst they are asleep. If you suffer from this condition, it is also much more likely that you will snore during the night. If you want to prevent the snoring, and also keep your airway open during the night, then a continuous positive airway pressure machine may be of assistance.

Anti snoring pillows are now widely available on the internet as well as in high street shops. These special pillows are designed to prevent snoring and so result in an undisturbed night’s sleep for both the snorer and their partner. If your partner snores, it’s well worth taking a look at these pillows – they might prove invaluable.

A Snoring Jaw Supporter is a popular and inexpensive way to help prevent snoring. They work by keeping the jaw in the right position and can be very effective in reducing or eliminating snoring.

People who sleep on their side during the night are much less likely to snore than those who sleep on their back. Trying to prevent snoring by making every effort to go to sleep lying on your side is all very well but the chances are that you will roll over onto your back sometime during the night.

If your partner is a constant snorer, you are probably at the end of your tether trying to find something that will prevent them from keeping you awake during the night. One solution, although rather drastic, could be surgery. This will prevent the snoring but, obviously, needs careful consideration.

You could spend a lot of money on some very expensive pieces of equipment designed to prevent snoring or, alternatively, you could take a look at your lifestyle and see if some simple changes might provide a cure. If you eat a balanced diet, drink a lot of water, stop smoking and maintain a healthy weight you might be able to cure the problem yourself.

People that suffer from insomnia are always looking for remedies to eliminate the effects of the condition so that they can get a good night’s sleep. There are a number of different methods that can be used for curing insomnia but the most popular method seems to be the use of an insomnia cure home remedy. The number of people that are helped by an insomnia cure home remedy increases each year as more people decide that a home remedy is their best option.

How Does The Home Remedy Work?

An insomnia cure home remedy is generally a home remedy that is used for relaxation or anti-anxiety. Because depression and anxiety are known as two main causes of the condition, treating these conditions with a home remedy reduces the effects of the condition and helps the person get to sleep each night. Instructions for an insomnia cure home remedy can be found on the internet on many of the websites that detail different types of home remedies.

Most insomnia cure home remedy methods work by reducing the amount of stress that a person is feeling, which regulates the person’s mood and helps them relax for longer periods of time. Reducing the amount of stress and anxiety the person is feeling can help the person manage their emotions better and will help them get to sleep faster each night. Relaxation reduces the levels of certain chemicals in the brain that affect the person’s sleep cycle and if the levels remain high for a lengthy amount of time, chronic insomnia may result.

Using an insomnia cure home remedy can be dangerous much safer than taking some type of prescription medication of the virtually non-existent risk of dependence to the home remedy. Very rarely do people find that they are unable to sleep without taking the home remedy after the first couple weeks of using the home remedy or find that they need to take more of the home remedy to achieve the desired effect. If a person feels that they are becoming dependent on the home remedy, they should stop taking it and try some other insomnia treatment method.

The Side Effects Of The Home Remedy

There are generally very few side effects associated with using an insomnia cure home remedy. The most common side effect linked to taking an insomnia cure home remedy is lingering grogginess when the person awakens in the morning. Any lingering effects should begin to disappear over time if the person uses the home remedy on a regular basis. An insomnia cure home remedy is only effective in certain cases so it is important to leave your options open when deciding on an effective insomnia cure.

Remember snoring can sometimes cause insommnia due to your sleep constantly being inturupted by your loud snoring. Snoring Cures are available and in many cases can eliminate or greatly reduce the damage snoring can cause.

Anyone who is a snorer, or who has the misfortune to live with one, deserves a lot of sympathy and understanding, because snoring can ruin your life and the lives of those around you.

If you are the ‘snorer’ and you share a bedroom with someone, the chances are you become very unpopular, especially during the night, and often wake in the morning, all on your own, suffering from bruising and sore ribs, having been pushed, dug in the ribs and maybe kicked by your irate partner who, when on the point of drifting into blissful slumber, is jerked back to painful reality by the hideous noises emanating from you. Not only will your beloved appear bleary eyed and bad tempered in the morning, but you will too, since the chances are neither of you has slept well.

If, as happens in a lot of cases, the snorer is a big person and a heavy sleeper who insists on sleeping on his back, and is out like a light as soon as his head hits the pillow, trying to get him to roll onto his side can be a major problem involving a lot of tugging and pushing and all to no avail. In such a case the ‘innocent’ party can end up causing physical injury to herself. A very good cure for this type of snoring is a tennis ball sewn into the back of the snorer’s pyjama jacket thus preventing him from rolling onto his back without a great deal of discomfort.

Nasal strips are said to be very effective in a lot of cases. These peculiar looking strips, which are placed across the bridge of the nose, hold open the airways and reduce the amount of noise and if the cause of the problem is narrow airways then nasal strips often eliminate it.

Another remedy, which is very effective in a lot of cases, is Aromalites Snoring Remedy. This comprises two jars of essential oils: one of marjoram and the other of lavender; both jars to be left open in the snorer’s bedroom both day and night for a month. After that it is only necessary to open the jars at night. The purpose of the marjoram is to clear the sinuses and lessen the vibration at the back of the throat, thus reducing snoring. The lavender is a great relaxant and promotes deep, restful sleep, which is beneficial not only to the person who used to snore but also to the partner who put up with it. The result is a much happier household and the risk of physical violence is eliminated.

Snoring causes sleep deprivation both to the snorer and those around him. This in turn causes daytime drowsiness, irritability, lack of concentration, and, it is thought, significant psychological damage to sufferers.

There are many reasons for snoring, among them throat weakness which causes the throat to close during sleep; fat gathering in and around the throat; blockage in the nasal passage, etc.

There are several snoring appliances you can buy but if it is a persistent problem, it may be wise to seek medical help. Almost all treatments revolve around clearing any blockage in the breathing passage and there are lots of appliances and techniques which may help.

Firstly, have a look at your life style. If you are overweight, this may well be the cause of your snoring as fat pressing on the throat is a common cause. Don’t drink alcohol before you go to bed since this reduces muscle tone and is a common cause of snoring.

Try not to lie on your back. If this is your natural sleeping position, it may need something drastic to make you lie on your side – like taping a tennis ball to the back of your pyjama jacket so that when you try to lie on your back you will be so uncomfortable it will wake you up and you will automatically turn over!

One solution – which sounds rather drastic and is not recommended – is to tape the snorer’s lips together so that he is forced to breathe through his nose. However, if a blockage in his nose is the cause of the problem and his lips are taped together, he will be in desperate trouble! To someone who is trying to sleep with a snoring partner, this may sound very tempting but come the morning there is bound to be big trouble!

There are several types of nasal strips which, in a lot of cases, are found to be very effective. These hold open the nasal passages and allow an increased flow of air and therefore the reduction of noise and even the elimination of it altogether.

The use of antihistamines is sometimes recommended but you should talk to your doctor about this. Antihistamines, as well as making the snorer sleepy, are supposed to open the nasal passages thus reducing the dreadful snorts, grunts, whistles etc.

Of course you can always take singing lessons. Apparently singing helps to strengthen saggy muscles at the back of the throat thus reducing the vibrations which cause snoring.

I love my husband to pieces, but when he snores I go downstairs to the spare room to sleep. He doesn’t like waking up with me gone, but I need my sleep. He has tried a lot of things to quit snoring, but no luck yet. We really want to sleep in the same bed every night, all night.I have just read about a new snoring pillow designed to help people who snore get relief. I am going to order one for my husband today. I plan to be sleeping better every night in the same bed as my husband from now on.

The advantages of using this snoring pillow are that you don’t need to use chemicals, have surgery, wear a mask or put up with oral appliances. The various chemical solutions don’t work for us and have nasty side effects sometimes. The surgery is expensive and not without risks. My husband does not want anything to do with more surgeries. He finds the various masks uncomfortable and claustrophobic for him. The oral devices are irritating and sometimes even painful, so he can’t sleep. The devices on the outside or inside of your nose have given only limited success. A snoring pillow sounds pretty good compared to everything else we have tried.

The snore pillow is made of memory foam in various densities to be supportive where needed and softer in places comfort dictates. It is bigger than a normal pillow, because it is orthopaedic ally designed to lift the top part of your body as well as positioning your head properly. The snoring pillow has a neck roll and a wedge on each side of the head attached to the main wedge that lifts the top part of your body. It is comfortable for either side or back sleeping, because of the superior way it is designed and manufactured.

The pillow was originally designed to reduce acid-reflux symptoms, but worked to reduce snoring at the same time. The snoring pillow can treat up to 50% of obstructive sleep apnea cases. The snoring pillow puts the body and the head in a better position to sleep quietly, because it opens airways and relieves pressure at the throat by elevating the torso slightly. Most snorers notice an improvement the first night they use the pillow. When the pillow is combined with other healthy strategies like losing weight and cutting down on alcohol the results are even better. So if you’re looking for a simple and inexpensive snoring cure then try a pillow.
